Heart Made Whole review

_240_360_Book.1965.cover

This is another one of those books I kept seeing pop up on social media with HUGE kudos from so many of my favorite Christian writers. I’m also someone who isn’t always clear what to do with past hurts and pain so I thought this might be something I should read and it was available to review from BookLook Bloggers.

This book caused me a few tears, I’ll be honest and especially the first chapter with the authors own heartbreaking story.

I think my favorite parts of the book are the, I’ll call, action items and the author calls Open-Heart surgery at the end of each chapter. They are call to your soul questions or actions and they follow each chapter.

The above was written a couple of chapters in to the book.

But one chapter, her visions about Jesus just seemed, well, weird, or forced, or an overactive imagination (there is imagery in the first one that I couldn’t get passed) and I honestly stopped reading the book after that. I tried to keep reading but that chapter/section felt a little too, odd for me.

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for my opinion.

Sorry for all the reviews at once, I was having connection issues with my laptop!

Cook Korean! Comic book cookbook

So, this cookbook comic book, Cook Korean! by Robin Ha is really fun and really cute! The pages are presented in comic book format with recipes, background information, and tips and tricks. My 13 year old was instantly attentive and looked for recipes to make in it ( we are teaching him how to cook). We haven’t had a chance to take any pictures of the meals we’ve made yet, but so yum!

I found this image on a google search, and it just shows a great overview of one of the pages. If you are new to Korean cooking (me!), you like comic books, or you just want to try a new type of cookbook, I’d highly recommend this book.

I chose this book from Blogging for Books because I love trying new recipes (especially Asian ones it seems) in exchange for my honest opinion.
